BMM is seeking nominations for the following committees for 2020 –

C. Volunteers at various events and for miscellaneous projects throughout the year
All candidates must meet the following requirements
- Willingness to serve the mandal and its community
- Passion to lead and help the community
- Time commitment
- Must take mandal membership for 2020 by January 15 or earlier
- Web programming and accounting experience is a plus
In addition to the above, executive committee candidates must be 2019 members of BMM as of December 1st, 2019.

Our election officers for this year are Mr. Sanjay Pawar and Mr. Sandeep Kesarkar. They have kindly agreed to take on this responsibility. All decisions for the 2020 slate will be made at AGBM by this group and will be considered final.

Diwali Dhamaka
Please join us for BMM Diwali Dhamaka from 4:00PM to 9:30PM on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at River Hill High School. We have a number of fun filled activities lined up, here is the agenda for the day:
Registration (4:00-4:30 PM)
Performances (4:30-7:00 PM)
Dinner (7:00-8:30 PM)
Karaoke music show (8:30-9:30 PM)
Lego Killa showcase (submit your creation during registration)
Akash kandil showcase (submit your creation during registration)
Entry fee:
$3 for members, $5 for non-members (Free entry for kids under 5 years) – scroll down for the entry fee payment buttons.
Snacks and dinner will be available for purchase, not included in the cost of admission.
Please submit your performance entries to Prajakta Dravid (via phone or email) by October 31st, 2019. Performers who are not members of BMM have to pay a performer fee of $10 (using the Non-member performer fee payment button below).
Food Drive:
We will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items and donating it to local food pantry, please bring canned and/or non-perishable food items for donation.

Pursuit of Happiness
Please join us for an interactive workshop on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 from 3:00-5:30 PM at Lucille Clifton Meeting Room, East Columbia Branch, Howard County Library, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD 21045.
In this workshop, presented by Nobility in Action, you will learn of the scientific discoveries around happiness, and the secrets of how to achieve life-long happiness.
The workshop will be followed by an Ice Cream Social.
The workshop entry is free of cost, however, the capacity of the room is limited (60), due to which entry will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please plan to arrive at venue by 2:45pm.
Bhondla / Hadga / Bhulabai
Please join us for celebrating Bhondla / Hadga / Bhulabai on Sunday September 29th, 2019 from 5:30-7:00 PM in Veterans Elementary School Gymnasium. Entry fee is $5 per adult; kids join in for free.

BMM Math Challenge 2019
- Email us (info at baltimore marathi mandal) by August 3rd with child’s name and math grade level for Fall 2019.
- Pledge levels: 251 or 501 or 1001 math problems
- You will receive an email about the “BMM Math Challenge” which would include worksheets covering various topics at the grade level and the “Answer Key” for parents. Please print out the “BMM Math Challenge” for your child.
- Your child has August 4th-September 2nd (Ganesh Chaturthi) to complete.
- Please email us on or before September 2nd confirming that your child has completed the challenge. Your word is enough – You do NOT need to send us completed worksheets.
- Your child will be recognized and get a reward at “Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration” for his/her efforts.

Summer Picnic
Please join us to enjoy a day in the Sun on Sunday, July 28th, 2019 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event will be held in Pavilion #707, Pickall Area, Patapsco Valley State Park (8125 Johnnycake Rd, Windsor Mill, MD 21244).
We have a day packed with activities for the Kids, Moms, Dads and the Grandparents!
- Come early to enjoy a Magic show at 11 am, followed by balloon art
- Get ready to grill burgers and corn and don’t miss yummy misal-pav!
- Get moving – play some cricket, volleyball, soccer or go for a hike
- Enjoy old and new songs in a few rounds of Antakshari

BMM Senior citizens event to welcome parents and grandparents visiting us for the warmer season! An opportunity for them to get to know each other, chat, showcase their talents and cooking skills. We look forward to the performances by local and visiting Aajji-Ajobas!

NavRas – A Musical Experience
An enthralling musical experience of “Nav-Ras” (nine emotions) rendered through popular Marathi and Hindi songs woven with meaningful narration. The show touches different facets of Indian music. A musical performance by Ras Barase, a team of renowned artists from USA and India.

Please join us to celebrate Holi and Gudi Padwa on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. The event will be held in Mt. Hebron High School, 9440 Old Frederick Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042.
The celebration includes a musical performance by Ras Barase, followed by everyone’s favorite part of Holi – playing colors.
